ActivTrak Strengthens its Employee Privacy Commitment in Workforce Analytics

ActivTrak, a cloud-based workforce analytics software provider, recently announced updates to its workforce analytics solution that improves employee data privacy and enhances compliance support for the rising number of labor and employment laws.

Data privacy remains a significant focus of state laws recently approved or amended in New York, Delaware, and Connecticut. And Recently, the senior Democrat from Pennsylvania, Senator Bob Casey, submitted legislation to limit workplace surveillance of workers.

Mark Ralls, the CEO of ActivTrak, said, “Visibility need not come at the expense of privacy.” He added, “You can respect privacy and still give leaders the data they need to run their businesses more effectively. Over the last three years we have made significant investments in our platform to provide the level of privacy that workers deserve, and we are pleased to see our philosophy reflected in these new laws.”

Privacy-first analytics from ActivTrak has now become the default mode for all product packages. Features that can expose delicate Personal Identifiable Information (PII), including screen views, screenshots, and the capturing of detailed URLs and title bars, are excluded. However, companies with commercial or regulatory requirements for more thorough activity tracking can continue using those features with a Screen Details add-on.

  • Aggregate and anonymize data
  • Limit data collection to business hours
  • Control access based on roles and permissions
