We occasionally read articles explaining why we detest human resources, how HR is worthless, why it should not be saved, or why we ought to fire the HR division. “This job is typically taken by an overweight, middle-aged woman who loves gossip,” is a recent comment from HR that perpetuates stereotypes. These criticisms frequently center on the administrative responsibilities of HR work, the corporate advocate (rather than the employee), or the discouraging results of performance reviews.
