As it released its findings in an extensive investigation into Sports Direct, the House of Commons Business, Innovation, and Skills Committee denounced the company’s policies and practices as “appalling.” Focusing on a few HR rules employed at Sports Direct’s main warehouse in Shire Brook, Derbyshire, the parliamentary committee painted a “disturbing picture” of the company’s working methods and business strategy, where employees were “not treated as humans.”
