On March 17, GCCL (Global Clinical Central Lab), a business that specializes in the processing of clinical trial samples, revealed that it had developed the PBMC Resource Management System, a system for managing peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). The entire PBMC testing procedure is controlled and maintained in a computerized system utilizing two barcodes under the PBMC Resource Management System. This includes the receipt of an initial sample, centrifugation, and the creation of vials for split sample PBMC, as well as storage, dispatch mapping, and disposal. After mapping, the system generates unique barcodes for each original sample and split sample. The technology also computerizes the entire testing cycle. This will enable real-time data provision upon customer request and guard against human errors resulting from manual entry. As clinical expertise increases, Cell Mediated Immunogenicity (CMI) analysis is required for trials for new biologic drug development, such as immunotherapy medications. “We have opted to establish this IT system to offer superior PBMC production and administration services for customers,” stated Hee-Joo Lee, Vice President of GCCL Lab Operation. “It is anticipated that this system development would deliver safer, more effective, and reliable sample management services,” she continued.
