Dandi Emerges from Stealth to End Workplace Bias with First-of-its-kind DEI Analytics Platform

The analytics platform for enhancing diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace, Dandi Technologies, has come out of hiding. The business launched a first-of-its-kind DEI analytics tool that people leaders can use to identify equity gaps in the employee experience and put data-driven solutions to problems with workforce diversity. A $3.7 million seed investment lead by Springbank and Alleycorp Impact was also disclosed by the company in an effort to broaden the worldwide audience the platform will positively affect.

Developed by data, design, and DEI veterans working closely with a group of DEI advisors, the Dandi platform is underpinned by advanced machine learning and makes powerful, realtime DEI data easily available and actionable for every company. With Dandi, organizations can:

  • Aggregate and analyze existing HR data to generate millions of DEI insights across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, hiring, promotions, retention, and everything in between.

  • Give C-suite executives quick and easy access to critical DEI metrics, updated in real-time, through an Executive Dashboard.
  • Generate custom-branded presentations and export to Google Slides, Powerpoint, and more with a single click.

According to research from the Society for Human Resources Management, firms in the United States have spent $171.9 billion over a five-year period on employee turnover as a result of discrimination and unjust treatment. Only over half of the major U.S. companies provide workforce diversity statistics, despite recent public commitments by businesses to DEI. Additionally, just 11% of respondents report intersectional data, the ideal method for collecting demographic information. The vast majority of businesses lack effective, precise metrics for bias.

It is essentially difficult to operationalize intersectionality with the methodsavailable today. According to Lily Lamboy, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Blue Shield of California, Dandi transforms everything by enabling businesses to identify how these intersections effect the employee journey and take appropriate action.

Dandi has an established roster of customers including Fortune 100 organizations like Blue Shield of California, publicly-traded companies such as Oscar Health and Braze, and fast-growing technology companies like Teachable and Care/Of (acq. by Bayer). Dandi is quick to deploy and affordable: starting at only $15 per employee per year, it’s priced to work for businesses of every size.

Investors such as Atlassian Ventures, Impact Engine, Uncommon Denominator, AAF, and Heirloom VC joined Springbank and Alleycorp Impact in sponsoring Dandi’s initial round. Courtney Leimkuhler, the founder and managing partner of Springbank, has joined the board of directors of Dandi as a result of the round.

Dandi is creating the instrumentation for the workforce of the future. As more firms commit to DEI and as more regulators around the world demand the data to prove it, Dandi is providing essential tools for leaders and their teams. Jeff and the team have an impressive track record and vision, and I’m personally thrilled to be part of their mission, said Leimkuhler.

AlleyCorp Impact is proud to co-lead this round and collaborate with its passionate, mission-driven team to position Dandi to be a vital solution in the arsenal of every company that is serious about building an equitable workplace, said Tanya Beja, General Partner at AlleyCorp Impact.

Dandi is developing the analytical tools to improve workplace equity for all teams. As more businesses place a higher priority on developing data-driven DEI initiatives, we are enthusiastic about its growth trajectory. According to Matt Sonefeldt, head of Atlassian Ventures, “Dandi’s objective is firmly aligned with Atlassian’s values and we look forward to supporting the Dandi team as it makes valuable demographic data usable for Atlassian’s 200,000+ cloud customers around the world.”
